In light of X/Twitter’s new feature, on-demand generation of Child Sex Abuse Material and Non Consensual Illicit Images, it’s time for everyone to stop using the service. It’s a disgusting stain on our society and it should be shunned.

I encourage everyone in my circles to move to “the social web”. Mastodon for a Twitter-like experience, Pixelfed for photos, Loops for short video. There are many platforms, and they interoperate.

Each server and service on the social web has its own content moderation policies to prevent such abuses. A failing of today’s billionaire-controlled platforms.

Organizations should maintain complete control of their social accounts, their message and reach. They can do this by hosting their own server. With it, they’ll become an equal member of “the social web”. Cost is about the same as a fancy cup of coffee each month.
